Finance Lead
WeMachines is the workspace for software teams and their AI - chat, tasks, docs and huddles on your GitHub repo, with an AI teammate whose work ends in a pull request. We’re a US company that hires across Europe, and the team is about to grow a lot. Nobody owns finance full-time yet. You’d own finance end to end - the accounts, the cash we’ve raised, and the numbers investors see.
On a B2B contract. Equity package included.
What you’d actually do
- Own the books: monthly close, invoices, payments, and work with our outside accountants and auditors.
- Manage our cash and the money we’ve raised - where it sits, how much runway we have, what we spend it on.
- Build the budget and the forecast, and say early when we’re off.
- Pay the team on time - contractors across Europe, in several currencies.
- Prepare investor updates, board numbers and the data room for the next round.
- Handle taxes, company filings and the admin nobody else wants, with good outside advisers.
Who this fits
- You’ve run finance at a startup, or at a firm that worked with startups.
- You’re comfortable with US company finance and European contractors.
- You know SaaS numbers - MRR, churn, burn, runway - and can explain them simply.
- You’re organised and exact, and you automate the boring parts.
- You’d use AI to do in hours what used to take days.
Bonus points
- You’ve helped close a venture round.
- You’ve worked with Stripe billing data.
- You have an accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or similar).
